Re: 2023 Draft

I’ll take Ron’s crap of .500 football over 3-13 Jay Gruden and Callahan any day of the week. I’ll take Ron’s .500 and at least trying to build a decent team over 5-11 flapping gums Spurrier any day of the week. I’ll take Ron’s .500 football over 6-10 deer in the headlights Jim Zorn any day. Hmmmm…....

Re: 2023 Draft

I agree. I jumped into this thread because MissouriSkin claimed Ron has done a fairly good job but has faced some remarkable circumstances. I think Ron has made his bed and now we have to lie in this crap. Bring on Bezos or whoever! <<<< We have the draft in spring and a new QB with mobility and a ...

Re: 2023 Draft

That’s not true. There are only 32 head coaching jobs in the NFL and there are hundreds of guys who would give their left arm for one. He accomplished a .500 season with bad qbs. Well who is that on? He coaches and he makes all personnel moves. <<< Until ownership is resolved it is pointless.

Re: 2023 Draft

Of course Ron won’t be fired while there is a ownership change (lucky for him) but if there wasn’t one, you think he deserves to stay? He will have next year to prove himself and the new owners may decide to clean house. <<< We aren't a great destination for good coaches right now. We're lucky to h...

Re: 2023 Draft

MissouriSkin you are a Ron apologist plain and simple. Of course Ron came into a team that had many holes and an owner with the worse track record of head coaches. When a new coach is hired, the team is not in good shape but that doesn’t mean, a fairly quick turnaround can’t happen. Hell look at th...

Re: 2023 Draft

Rivera will never live down starting horrible Wentz against the Browns. That was the worst coaching decision in the history of this franchise. Rivera can’t evaluate QB play for s**t. ESPN or HBO will make a documentary about that decision someday, it was so bad. It was obvious after the first 6 gam...

Re: 2023 Draft

Teams that win, invest in the QB position. Chiefs drafted Mahomes while they had Alex Smith. San Francisco had Garrapola then drafted Trey Lance and Purdy. Howell is my starter but that does not mean we don't bring in a veteran QB and draft someone like Richardson from Florida or Hooker from Tennessee

Re: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Sonny Edition

I hate the fact they said they were looking to be a run first team and want to run 60 - 70% of the time. Far to one dimensional to me! I prefer a team setup to be able to do both equally well with an expected 50/50 split. Much harder to game plan to defend. Plus lets us game play to be either or de...

Gentlemen: I make this comment having watched the Cowboys manhandle the Bucs. Re: Early off-season stuff

No, but when you announce how desperate you are, you end up trading multiple draft picks and paying the full salary of a washed up QB who was going to be released sooner rather than later. It's what crap team presidents do. <<< That's really hyperbole. We ended up giving in up 2 thirds. Both of whi...

With ownership in flux it is delusional to think Ron is going to get fired. A better question is what young offensive minded guru are we going to get as our offensive coordinator.

Re: Early off-season stuff

Yep, sprinkle in some RPO/Air-Raid gameplan with a steady diet of Power run. We have the weapons, just need the OL now. I would NOT hate drafting TE Michael Mayer in R1...but i am also not a fan of drafting TE's that early. I see him as both a true receiving weapon while also being a true devastati...

Re: Early off-season stuff

Conjecture theory with no evidence: All the talk we have heard about Sam Howell not being ready, could that have come from Turner? He would seem to be the person with the most direct insight and authority on that subject, short of Rivera. It is not a stretch that Turner told Rivera that Howell wasn...

Re: 2023 Draft

I like Richardson's highlights, but I always take a QB highlight reel with a big grain of salt. First of all, they are the highlights, not the lowlights. I'd rather see how many stupid interceptions, or way off passes he threw. Also, college QBs seem to find a lot of wide open receivers whom I coul...

Re: 2023 Draft

You're right, I don't trust Ron to draft anyone. Why would I? And I really don't trust his ability to find a QB. He completely screwed the pooch last off-season, and the only reason we aren't in Denver's position is that Russell Wilson didn't trust Ron, either. I'm ok with drafting a QB, and I hope...

100%!!!!! If these jackasses wanted to solve the QB issue, they would have drafted one when they had the #2 pick in a great QB draft instead of getting a D-lineman in the first round for THE FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW.
