Looks like the opening line is Washinton by 3.5
What an incredible start - both offense & defense playing well

Now the old Redskins we knew from the last few years would have gotten our hopes up a little and then get stomped on by the floundering Browns. Let's hope this team keeps the train rolling and does what it looks like they should do to the factory of sadness.

I think Deshaun Watson has checked out and is just counting his money at this point. Cleveland should have kept Flacco around.

FWIW - the Eagles are on a bye week; the giants are at Seattle (-6) & the pukes are at the Steelers (-2.5)

The Browns seem eminently beatable, especially given our recent trajectory. Their OL is hurt, and they've been giving up lots of pressure. On paper, we should handle them easily, which sets this up as a trap game. Aside from the Ravens, the schedule puts us in a position to be 7-2 by early November. But we can't afford a letdown now

This week is where we see if we are the same old Redskins.
The following week I would love to beat Baltimore, but losing that one I could understand. They always tend to put out a good product and Henry and Hamilton are on fire.
But let's get through this week first.

I hope the defense holds up. I am a bit worried that Kingsbury may have helped with scouting on Murray, and that is why they shut him down so effectively. I don't want to see them go back to where they were the first three weeks.
OTOH, if the D starts competing and the O doesn't regress, this team could go a long way this year.

Found it funny that the announcers were trying to use the heat as an excuse for Philly sucking so hard.

It certainly looks this team finally (FINALLY!) has an offense that can support the D and pressure the other team, rather than struggling all game long and hanging the D out to dry. So if the offense can basically keep up and the D can make some steps forward, then they should be in decent shape.
Cleveland has looked terrible. Watson is a shell of his former self, their line is beat up and outside of Garrett on D they haven't been nearly what they were last year and he's beat up as well.
We're entering strange new territory where this team should now be expected to win certain games, and this is one of them. That can add some pressure but there's reason apply some expectation in this instance.

The Browns are not all that different from the team that humiliated us in early 2023. Myles Garrett must be doubled on every play. Our defense will face a quarterback who has been smeared in the press, and he will be anxious to establish a rhythm from the first series. We have to find a way to shut down the Browns’ running attack. Besides the Bucs this is the best defense we’ve face to date. I hate playing winless teams when they’re desperate for a win.

Browns this year is not the same as previous years. Their offense is horrendous especially without Chubb. Ford is their lead back and he has just been okay. I don’t think he has one game with 50 or more yards. They are already talking about who they will draft next year at QB. Watson has Cooper and Jeudy but has been so inconsistent. Their TE Ngoku has been hurt pretty much all year.
Our defense should be able to contain them.

They need to pressure Watson and get in his head. He isn't much of a running threat, but this WR's are solid so getting to him can take that away and lead to some likely turnovers.
Their D last year was excellent but this year they've dipped. Their pass D is still solid and they can get pressure, but they have been getting gashed in the run game the last few weeks, so I'd hope KK would keep leaning on that and provide a lot of options for the offense.

The defence still scares me if we run up against a high powered offence. I’ll be curious how they handle the Ravens as the are elite running team with some pretty good WRs and TEs.
The offence has been balanced and stellar for most every game.

The more this team buys into the winning attitude it should get infectous. The offensive line seems to be buying in, and the defense will get shamed into playing better. No game is easy and the Browns aren't just going to lay down. One game at a time.

I don't know about that. Deshaun Watson allegedly does his best work lying down on his back.

Re: Cleveland Browns @ Washington - 1:00pm
Team made a few PS moves as a result of teams signing two players.
Pitt signed OG Max Scharping and SF signed LB Jalen Graham.
Scharping signed with Washington late in August. Graham was drafted by SF in 2023 (under Peters) but cut in their last round of roster shaping.
The team has signed OL Marquis Hayes and S Sheldrick Redwine.
Hayes played at Oklahoma, was drafted by Arizona in '22 (Kliff was still coach) and Redwine skirted around this roster over the summer.

I was actually happy when we picked up Jalen Graham, kind of bummer he got snatched from us.

I would love for us to pick up DeVante Adams. Can you imagine Daniels with McLauren and Adams?

Re: Cleveland Browns @ Washington - 1:00pm
I think the rules give us a right of first refusal to sign him to our active roster ahead of the 49ers if we want, but i think we have to keep him there for 3 (?) weeks if we do. With Magee poised to come back, i guess they didn't feel they had room for them both, or they didn't feel Graham was ready for the active roster yet.VegasSkinsFan wrote:I was actually happy when we picked up Jalen Graham, kind of bummer he got snatched from us.
We designated QB Marcus Mariota and LB Jordan Magee to return from IR and DE Efe Obada to return from PUP. Opens 3 week-practice window for each of them, at end of which they have to be activated to 53-man roster or they stay on IR/PUP for the entire year. WR Jamison Crowder went on IR today, so we have an open roster spot. WRs on our PS right now are Mitchell Tinsley and Brycen Tremayne.
In ex-Commanders news, DE K.J. Henry was signed to the Cowboys' active roster and CB Tariq Castro-Fields was released by the Panthers. Supposedly we wanted to keep TC-F on the PS when we released him during final cuts, so i wonder if we bring him back there now. I think next time we promote Bobby Price from PS, he has to stay on active roster (i think you only get 2 PS call-ups before we have to make it "permanent").

No way I want Adams. Guy is the essential prima donna receiver. He would want the ball thrown his way consistently, unlike Terry. He’s on the older side and I would prefer they go after a free agent in the offseason or draft a young guy.

Re: Cleveland Browns @ Washington - 1:00pm
I'd be surprised if the new guys change what has worked for them so far - the coaching staff has done a great job keeping things simple and just trying to simplify the game plan to suit the players we have - it's obvious the secondary is a major concern and the O line is a work in progress - but we are 3-1 and IMO will only get better by staying the course
the long-range plan is to be a competitive franchise in 2025 & beyond - we might even get there sooner ...
I love how Whitt & Kingsbury are handling things & helping their players
BIG game this week - 4-1 is totally unexpected

Re: Cleveland Browns @ Washington - 1:00pm
Adams is still a very good player and will help whatever team he goes to, this one included, and an argument can be made to go after him with the division seemingly in reach, but IMO I think it's perhaps too soon to push in for a player like him. Currently the offense is humming along pretty nicely, and that likely will change as Jayden comes back to earth a touch and teams have more designed information against him, but at this stage of this team I think keep assets in hand for use in other areas might be a smarter path forward. This team will need to augment oline and WR, but the secondary and pass rush are also big needs.
Adams would improve this offense and put some real fear in the opponents and it'd be fun to watch, but I think bolstering the backend of that D might be a larger priority and the resources used to get Adams might be better used in that area.

Re: Cleveland Browns @ Washington - 1:00pm
It's good to be a little nervous about the 'success' we've enjoyed so far this season - most of us thought we'd be lucky to be 1-3 at this time and that we'd likely lose all 4 AFC North games - we are very fortunate to have the coaching staff game plan the way they have & I think Jayden is benefitting from Kingsbury bringing him along slowly - this kid is special
I was fortunate to watch the last game in a sports bar in the Ocean City area - "Hail to the Redskins" was loud
Hopefully, the beat goes on for another week
as Skins-R-Us has pointed out, one game at a time ...

It looks like RB Brian Robinson won’t play. Knee injury. Didn’t know he hurt it. But Ekeler should be a full go. Will McNichols or Rodriguez get Robinson’s carries if he doesn’t play?
