Next game - Washington at the Saints
The early line had us at 3.5 - With Carr possibly out, Washington is now favored by 7.5
hopefully, we continue to see improvement

Re: 12/15 game - Washington at New Orleans @ 1:00pm
Sounds about right. They have been playing better ever since they fired their head coach.
We need to stop Kamara and Carr is prone to mistakes. They got a couple speedy wide receivers so getting Lattimore will be big. Plus Lattimore will look to play well against his former team.

That probably means more Kamara and that is not necessarily a good thing for us.

But they’d be on their 4th string QB which would make it easier.

Re: 12/15 game - Washington at New Orleans @ 1:00pm
Kamara is their leading rusher and receiver this year. Weird but gives the D an easy thing to target and makes it pretty clear to expect a backup QB to lean on him a lot.
New Orleans is 30th in total D (Washington is 14)
Passing D: NO 29th at 293 yards a game (Wash is 5th...wow)
Rushing D: NO is 26th (Wash is 27th, .5 yard per game difference)
Scoring D: NO is 19th (Wash is 16th)
NO is 12th in total offense at 345 yards /gm and 31 td's. Wash is 4th at 377 yards/gm and 41 td's.
Passing O: NO is 19th (Wash is 16th)
Rushing O: NO is 10th (Wash is 3rd)
Scoring O: N) is 14th at 23 pts/gm (Wash is 4th at 28.9 pts/gm)
Washington's offense should be able to control the game against a poor D and with a backup QB I'd expect life to be a little easier on the D as well.

Now they're saying Carr is week-to-week with the hand injury, but he's currently in the concussion protocol. Seems unlikely he'd get cleared this week, but they are still on the fringes of the playoffs, so who knows.

Re: Next game Washington at the Saints
The injury is his left hand so he could deal with that although taking snaps may be an issue. I haven’t seen anyone pass concussion protocol the following week so I seriously doubt we see Carr.
That probably means Spencer Rattler the sixth rounder. Hes a rook so it should be feast tine for Whitt! And kamara was hot in the beginning of the season but has worn down a bit. A guy who could be worrisome is Taysom Hill. The do it all guy had a monster game a few weeks ago. Guy I was playing started him and he put up like 50 points. Nevermind hes on IR so one less weapon to deal with.
I expect a big win coming off the bye week! 42-17 good guys.

Haener stepped in at QB for them last week, guessing he'd get the start.
Lattimore looks to be trending towards making his debut.

Taysom Hill is out for season with ACL injury. So, he will not be an issue. As stated before , hopefully this isn't the same old team that makes rookie/2nd string QB's look all pro. I don't think that is the case with this team and I hope I'm right.

Re: Next game Washington at the Saints
Patriots are waiving WR K.J. Osborn. I would put in a claim for him. I think he is an upgrade over WR Jamison Crowder, whom i like but is unlikely to be here next year. I think Osborn can give us something on offense, he is an Ohio State WR and i presume that Terry knows him. I would at least consider it. We are apparently planning to activate Crowder from IR for the Saints game-we have an open roster spot after our recent moves.

Re: Next game Washington at the Saints
Per PFT, Quinn said at today's presser that WR Noah Brown is likely out for the rest of the year with a significant internal injury. I wonder if we will bring him back next year. He is good contributor but not good enough to be a starter. I imagine WR Jamison Crowder will take the open roster spot, and we will put Brown on IR on Saturday and possibly replace him with someone from the practice squad. If it is a WR (could be a CB depending on how much confidence they have in Lattimore to play a full game), i hope it is Mitchell Tinsley.

That's a tough one . . . he had a few really nice moments, but IMO is a 3rd or 4th WR at best. He dropped some BIG passes, both against the Eagles and the Cowboys that hurt the teams chances. I think we can move on and find plenty of options out there that are at least as good as Brown.

Brown is third on Washington in targets (56), receptions (35), & receiving yards (453). He’s averaging 12.9 yards & has played in 56% of the Commanders’ offensive snaps this season. IMO Brown will be wearing the same uniform next season

We claimed Osborn I imagine that Crowder will take Brown's spot on the roster before the Saints game. Brown's injury is listed as a kidney. Lattimore was a full participant in practice. Zane Gonzalez was limited, which is very concerning for the game, especially given recent history.skins7ny wrote:Patriots are waiving WR K.J. Osborn. I would put in a claim for him. Re: Next game - Washington at the Saints
I had Osborn confused with another WR. Osborn did not play at Ohio State, but is much more accomplished than the guy i was thinking about. He was very productive in Minnesota, signed a 1 year-$4M contract with NE in free agency, and produced very little. I think he can help us, glad we claimed him.

Re: Next game - Washington at the Saints
Good call on Osborn. If Brown is out for the season we definitely need bodies and Crowder is a body but just won’t cut it.
I hope we see more Luke and even two tight end sets with Sinott getting some opportunity. Hopefully KK can adjust the offense a bit because I have zero confidence in Zaccheus Dyami or whoever is our 4th or 5th wideouts.

Wtf!
We are cursed at kicker. Gonzalez has an injury to his left foot. I sure hope AP can finally solve the kicker issue. We haven’t had a kicker on the team kicking more than a few years since maybe Chip Lohmiller what back in 1993!

Nice call and I like the addition considering Brown's injury. It's not a like-for-like change but Osborn can line up on either side and was pretty productive in Minnesota. I'd like to see what they do with McCaffrey and how they add Dyami into the mix as well. I saw someone also mention that it could mean more two TE's, so maybe we get a little more Sinnot.

I'd like to see more Sinnot too . . . seems to be decent when they actually target him. McCaffery too, maybe more reps/targets will get him more catches if he is really as open as the advanced statistics claim he is!

Re: Next game Washington at the Saints
It's been a mystery as to why McCaffrey and Sinnott have not been targeted more in the passing game. I notice that in addition to sitting out practice one day this week because he's a veteran, TE Zach Ertz also has a hamstring injury designation. Maybe we will see more of both youngsters in the passing game this Sunday.SkinsGuru wrote:I'd like to see more Sinnot too . . . seems to be decent when they actually target him. Re: Next game - Washington at the Saints
Osborn averaged 52 catches for 600 yards with 5 TDs over three years with the Vikings - mostly as a #3 behind Jefferson and Thielen. 27 years old. It's all up-side for us. Curious to see if Chase Young does anything. Also curious to see what kind of reception Jayden gets in return to Louisiana. If we don't win this one, I'd guess we end up missing the playoffs.

Re: Next game - Washington at the Saints
Looks like Jake Haener will start at QB for Saints. I remember liking him a bit coming put of college. We are not in a position to underestimate anyone. The Rams are now 8-6, and we will be too if we lose on Sunday. The playoffs are at stake, and we had better not look past the Saints.

Lattimore is going to start against his former team.
We signed PK Greg Joseph to practice squad (in place of WR/RB Michael Strachan). No word yet on whether he or Zane Gonzalez will be doing our kicking on Sunday.

Did we sign OBJ?? Thought I saw a quick blurb but can't find anything?
edit: I read the headline wrong, it said that we are "considering signing"...guess i read it way too fast.
